Buried in boxes

I’ve been fucking with Bill’s boxes for the past few days.  I’m playing hell with UPS because they’re closed tomorrow and won’t make pickups until after the New Year when I’ll be working again.  So I’m trying to get this moving company to pick them up for me.

Christmas on Canal

Wow.  What a weird Saturday I had.  Weird week, matter ‘o’ fact.

Thursday night was Christmas Eve and there was open mic at the Ships Mast with Wild Bill.  I had picked some songs to do, none of which I’d ever done live before, don’t ask me what made me think I could pull that off.  Like, I picked "The Things I Might Have Been" by Kitty Wells, which has a lot of fuckin’ lyrics to it!

Bored with the waiting

Note: This is a journal entry — it was written on paper or on my computer, then transferred to my website, maybe years later.

Yesterday I spent all fuckin’ day waiting for the UPS guy, and he didn’t show up until 6:00.  D. came over later and he took me to the laundry to drop my clothes off.  Then we went to the L Cafe and met Diane.  We ate a little, but my tomato thing was gross — they put it on a hero instead of a bagel.  So we went home, made love, smoked pot, R. came over and called in for Thai food, he went + got it, came back and we ate pad thai.  R. left, D. left, I went to sleep.  Extremely boring day.

Miss manners

Note: This is a journal entry — it was written on paper or on my computer, then transferred to my website, maybe years later.

So today D. picked me up and we went into the city to go to the "Wreck-a-Stow." We stopped at Kiddie City and I finally found a videogame for Mama, hopefully she hasn’t gotten it already.  It’s Road Runner Death Valley Rally.

I’ve been making a lot of boxes to send Bill.  UPS is coming tomorrow to pick up 14 35-pound boxes full of videotapes.  It’s gonna cost $211.36.

We ate at BBQ by NYU and had chicken + ribs.  I used to get perturbed because D. tends to eat with his mouth open and chomp his food.  Now I’ve learned to just not look at him eat.  I guess if I’m proud of my own table manners, well goody for me.

Last Jackaroos show

D. is off at his parent’s house.  I’m taping some stuff (video), Lou Reed right now.

Yesterday D. came over and we went to Vinnie’s to pop a slice, get a good base for the evening.  At 11:30 he dropped me off at the Mast, he had to go get Jessica.  The Jackaroos were playing, and Diane and Barbara were there, but they left with Cliff and Jessica later to go to Mike Chapman’s party in Greenpoint.  The Mast was really empty due to parties in the hood.  D. and I were sitting real close and touching each other a lot and stuff.  It’s still kind of a cute secret hee-hee-hee kinda thing when we’re at the Mast.

Off from work

Note: This is a journal entry — it was written on paper or on my computer, then transferred to my website, maybe years later.

I had yesterday off from work.  I’m off until after New Years, praise Blackie.  I had to go in anyway, to pick up dental forms, get my tax stuff which I intend to pay, and mail off Bill’s mail and a Marky Mark cassette to the Santa letter girl.  Flex had picked me up a letter at the main post office.  One of the letters he got for himself was so funny — a boy asking Santa for a frog and a bag of flies.  So he got a frog incubator, where you send off for a freeze-dried tadpole, and also a toy catapult that shoots plastic flies.

Work party

What a week I’m having ! ! !  Today was my last day at work, I have two weeks off (NO WAY!) and I don’t have to come back until after the new year.  Today was cool because I’d finished all the bullshit work earlier this week.  I could just fuck around and play Tetris and stuff.

Cleanup from the storm

D. just left — we took the train home together after meeting in front of Kiev after work — on a mission to the "Wreck-a-Stow." We’ve been meeting in the morning the past couple of days to ride the J train to work — they finally pumped the water out of the L tunnel and we were able to ride it home tonight.  Now I have no excuses for being horribly late in the morning and not even giving a shit.

The big Nor’easter

Note: This is a journal entry — it was written on paper or on my computer, then transferred to my website, maybe years later.

So anyway, Friday was the worst storm in decades.  When I went to work in the morning it was a fuckin’ hurricane.  When I was riding up the elevator, the car was scraping against the walls of the elevator shaft — it was so windy the whole building was swaying.  And I’m sitting in my office talking to D. work-to-work, and the walls are creaking and the rain’s whipping against the window.

Industry party

I hardly have time to write in this thing anymore.  This has been a busy week!  Thursday night I took D. (well, he drove me actually) to a Christmas party at Soundtrack Studios.  It was crowded as all hell, but there was food and drink to be had.  Tito Puente was playing at some point but we couldn’t fight the crowd.  We hung out by the oyster shucker guy instead.

D. has been sick with a cold that he caught from me.  He took Thursday off from work, but was up for the party.

I’ll have to write later.  D. wants me to tag along while he picks up Jessica.
