Happy Halloween

Sorry the site has been so dead lately.  It’s because I’m working on music, I assure you!  Check out the discography for more info.  I’ve been having tons of computer and phone-line problems lately as well, causing me to only be able to connect to the ‘net at 21000 baud.  That’s another big reason why the site hasn’t been updated very much.  I ordered DSL service for me and John, which will hopefully solve all the connectivity problems, but the wait for installation is taking forever, and meanwhile I’m forced to use this crappy phone-line.  Ugh.  I’m getting booted off the line so often that it’s very difficult to get anything done on the web.  The family tree has been all but abandoned as well… but I promise to start kicking ass with all this stuff as soon as I’m able.

I did backups, along with Carla Torgerson of the Walkabouts, on almost all the songs.  This is the European version — a slightly different version was released in the U.S. on February 20, 2001 on Slow River / Rykodisc.

Categories of shit

My stupid little PalmPilot app ShitList now has category support.  I added the feature at the request of the one and only person who wrote me to say he tried it.  (Flattery will get you everywhere. :-)

Resurrected the old search engine

What the hell… I can’t even remember why I took it down before.

ShitList

I’ve been learning a little bit about software development for the PalmPilot, of all things. Came up with my first homemade application… it’s called ShitList! It’s quite silly and useless so I’m just giving it away as freeware. You can read about it and download a copy if you like.

NOTE: I’m no longer distributing ShitList, so the ancient downloads are no longer linked.

This is a four-song 12" EP / CD-EP.  I did backups on all 4 songs, along with a whole bunch of other singers like Bill Callahan (Smog), Kelly Hogan, Archer Prewitt, and Laetitia Sadier (Stereolab).

Survival of the fattest

Note: This is a journal entry — it was written on paper or on my computer, then transferred to my website, maybe years later.

Ugh — they had the final episode of Survivor last night, and the winner was Richard Hatch, the guy I disliked the most.  He did win fair and square I suppose, but he’s so annoying.  I had to work my delivery job last night but John taped the show for me.  It was quite a chore to avoid finding out who had won before I watched the tape… John accidentally saw the winner as he was fiddling with the VCR.  Shit!!  He was doubly pissed, both at spoiling the secret and who actually won.

Scheduling done, fun fun fun

Six Flags was AWESOME!!  The weather was perfect (partly cloudy and cool with spots of sunshine) and it wasn’t too crowded either.  I did end up bringing my PalmPilot, for no good reason at all.  I’d rigged it up with a shoulder strap, plus a little thing to hook it to my belt loop as well, so it was totally anchored.  I actually used it a couple of times too!  :-) It went with me on most of the coaster rides, but I chickened out on the flume ride. Luckily there were bins at every ride for people to stash their bags, sandals etc.

Birthday pre-fun

Note: This is a journal entry — it was written on paper or on my computer, then transferred to my website, maybe years later.

Got e-greetings from Davina and e-cards from Mama & Lilly.  And my Otter Box arrived just in time to put it to the test at SIX FLAGS!!!  John thinks I’m totally wack to want to bring it, so I’ll probably have to leave poor Palmie-pie in the glove compartment, oh well!!  I can handle that!  ;-)

SUCH a geek

I ordered more stuff to go with my PalmPilot — a replacement stylus by Panache (in black chrome), and a standalone pen/stylus combo (in blue) by Platinum.  I don’t know why I’m so PDA-happy lately, but oh well, sure is fun to play with.

I’ve been looking for a better database app, and settled on HanDBase after playing with it for a few days.  This way I can delete a few apps and improve my record-keeping, which needs all the help it can get.

Yes I am a geek

I ordered a new hard case for my precious Palmie.  It’s called an Otter Box and I got it in purple, from a place online.  Can’t wait for it to get here; I’m hoping to use it Friday on the water rides at Great America!!  hee hee
