Beauty is pain

My mouth has been hurting for freakin’ weeks!!  I think it’s just a bad case of sore gums and achey teeth, from the 3 new fillings, the cleaning and the 1/2-mouth scaling I got.  My jaws hurt too, from all the Novocaine shots.  It’s nothing too serious, just annoying… I’ve had teeth really die on me before and the pain was always a hell of a lot more intense than this.  Usually by the time you really need a root canal, you’re in so much pain you’re beggin’ to get it done ASAP!!  So thank god this is nothing that bad, it’s just annoying like I said.

POTENTIAL FOR EYE INJURIES!

Oh goody, the new Worst Toys list is here!

Warnings: “Never Aim Balls at Another Person’s Face or an Animal. Do Not Shoot Anything Other Than the Balls Provided. Play in a Wide Open Area.”

Heheh.

My favorite game

Tranquility NeophyteI finally registered Tranquility.  I’ve been playing the demo levels at least a year, but now that I’m registered they can start ranking my skillz as a player.  I’m still a Neophyte on the Path to Understanding but one day I’ll be a total Master!  :-)

Espantoso Crimen Nunca Visto!

The art of Jose Guadalupe Posada

Happy birthday John!!!

He actually went to WORK today, isn’t that insane?  I would never do that.

I had to go to the dentist again today for I think the fourth or fifth time in the past few months.  I got *three* shots of Novocaine for this; he was scaling my teeth and really went to town on ‘em.  He did one side and saved the other side for next week.  I’m glad I’m having all this work done, but damn!!  Why don’t they do something to make you look forward to it a little more?  I know they don’t want to give you *candy* but maybe a nice hot mocha drink or something.  With a straw please.  :-)

Mini mallets

Another random weird video c/o Davina…

I left the house again

John and I got to meet the great Irwin Chusid last night, that was pretty cool!  I would tell you all about it but John already beat me to it.  He’s been kicking ass with the blog lately, unlike me.  I’ve just been keepin’ to myself, spending lots of time staring at and fondling that new guitar, and messing around on the computer a lot.  Not blogging though.

In John’s list of videos we saw last night, he forgot to mention one of my favorites, Richard Peterson aka Big City Dick. Loved the Shooby Taylor stuff too of course.

Yatta!

Our looney video of the day is Green Leaves (Yatta!)

c/o Davina

Look at it!!

MINE!!!  Get away!!!  Mine.

photo by John WhitneyGuess what finally came today?  My new guitar.  It looks and sounds like a million bucks.  :-D

I thought I’d try a Liz Phair parody shot but of course Marcy was all over me, and I couldn’t get the hair right either, and my legs won’t spread that far…!!  (Er… I did not mean that the way it sounded.)

My grandmother’s ukelele

Today I finally got around to picking up my ukelele from Different Strummer.  It’s fixed and it sounds soooo good!!  It’s a beautiful little thing and it’s got a great tone, at least I think so.  I’ll be able to play it a lot better when I find a chord chart!  :-) I got a mini gig bag for it too and some more rosin for my fiddle.  I did a retarded thing though — when I was writing out my check to pay for the repair, I asked the guy what date it was… he said "the eighth" and I laughed and said, "Omigod, I thought you said the eighteenth!!" And now I look at the carbon copy for the check I wrote them and duhh… I actually wrote the 18th.  So I gave them a post-dated check, because I’m a fucking airhead.  Why didn’t I use my debit card?  I’ll call them in the morning and go give them a new check or something.

The dullest is back

I clicked on a bookmark in my browser and noticed that The Dullest Blog In The World is back after a few months hiatus.  I read the new entries, then closed my browser and continued with what I was doing.

Circus Ponies NoteBook (bump)

Isn’t NoteBook lovely?  Now they’ve updated it to 1.2 and added a whole tonload of new features, like password protection (with full encryption if desired) and exporting to HTML.  If you’re on a Mac and haven’t checked it out yet, I recommend it highly!

Still waiting

I ordered my blue guitar a whole month ago and it still hasn’t arrived from the Gibson factory.  :-( I guess it’s normal to have to wait awhile, but damn.  It’s not the store’s fault; it really is supposedly in the mail and they’ll call me the second it comes in.  Still, it’s pretty depressing!!  It’s silly but I don’t want to post to my blog, or write e-mails or do nothin’ except get that thing.  Doesn’t help that I keep seeing 335’s every time I turn on the TV.

We had a blast over the weekend with Glade and Davina.  I only mentioned the missing guitar ten or fifteen times at the most…!!

Here’s my problem

Lots of people are experiencing the exact same bugs that I did using the FileVault encryption feature in Panther… check out the discussion in Apple’s forums.  In short: don’t use it yet, it’s broken!
