I am writing again

It’s been awhile since I worked on new tunes but tonight (=last night) the words just started pouring out of me like mad, all nicely grouped in semi-rhyming couplets. There’s the chorus, there’s two verses, there’s another chorus, there are two more verses, they’re practically writing themselves. And dude, I have got some stuff to say!! Ain’t gonna be no "Afternoon Delight" that’s for sure. :-o

Hey, this week’s auctions are ending Sunday evening so getcher bids in if you’re short on cowgirl stuff!

Zeb at the movies

My favorite new blog, which isn’t really a blog, is 366 Days, 366 Movies by my newish pal Zeb Navarro out in San Diego.  His review of the Passion flick was especially great, I thought.  He’s a true character, and his writing is hilarious.  He almost always includes at least one smart remark that makes me explode with laughter.  Go check it out!

Share the Passion

The website of official licensed products for Mel Gibson’s "The Passion of the Christ".

"The Passion ceramic mugs feature Bible verses and dramatic images from the movie. Each 10 oz. mug comes in a matching gift box and makes a perfect gift to share your passion for Christ. Dishwasher safe. Microwavable."

Thanks Irwin!  I guess… ;-)

My lot of auctions did better than my wildest dreams.  $200 for some cheezy ol’ DOLL CLOTHES?!?!?  I’m not complaining but I mean c’mon people, get real!!  And my large Combat Armor Dougram toy got over $500, sweeeet!!!  That makes more sense, ‘cuz I did pay a good chunk ‘o change for that, back in the Eighties.

My days in purgatory

Selling my stuff.
Still trying to find tenants for our apartment.
Still packing, and ripping all of John’s CDs, I’m only up to MC5.
Lost fifteen pounds in the last month and I do not care.
Decided to stop it with the e-mailing unless I am e-mailed first…
cc’s and mass-mailings don’t count in this game I’m playing.
Being stubborn, but checking my e-mail every two minutes anyway.
One full week of torturous pitch blackness.
My heart’s crushed into a hard little burning walnut.
Every minute of every day it hurts, but at least I know why.
But Daddy’s doing well!!  And John is being so sweet, he’s my friend.
I’m moving in a week.
And I have 69 friendsters, if not 69 actual friends.
Today’s Lucie’s birthday!!
AND me and Marydee are getting together today.
We’re going to sing some Girls of the Golden West songs, just for fun.
I can’t wait.

Good vibrations please

My dad is having major surgery again tomorrow (Wednesday)… never seems to hurt to ask for y’all’s prayers, so I’ll do it again.  This will be I think his 21st or 22nd surgery in the past three years.  He’s pulled through worse than this, and I am reasonably hopeful it’ll go smoothly tomorrow, but still…

You Denied Your Love

(by the Carter Family)

(BLAH BLAH BLAH… I removed these lyrics because unfortunately it’s a violation of the terms of service for my webhost, to quote song-lyrics in full when I don’t own the copyright.  Meh.)

Canadian national treasure Stompin’ Tom Connors will be performing his classic "The Hockey Song" on Late Night with Conan O’Brien this Thursday the 12th.  Don’t you dare miss it!!

Georgia & August Greenberg

Georgia and August GreenbergFor the past four years or so, my pal and sometimes bandmate Mark Greenberg has delighted me with holiday CDs filled with songs and stories performed by himself and his two kids Georgia and August. I turned the folks at Comfort Stand on to this stuff, and looky what we have here!

Georgia & August Greenberg Sing Songs for You and Me!

Go giddit! It’s some of my favorite music on earth, now free for the world to enjoy. I couldn’t be prouder of those lil’ munchkins. :-)

Malentines

Yayyyy!!!!

I got the apartment I wanted!!!!!!!  They took me!!!  YAYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!

I had to meet with the landlord so he could see my financial stuff, but as soon as he saw the paper-pile he just took one look at it, shook his head in confusion and said "whatever, okay, it’s yours if you want it!" I guess the good thing they can see is that I don’t owe ANY money to ANYbody, and I did all the explaining I could, so whatever.  They know I’m on the up and up and that I always pay my rent, even if I don’t have a 9-to-5 job.

Oh, I’m soooo relieved.  God!!  I just wanna collapse and sleep for about three days straight, but I can’t.  Too much to do.  :-)

The mad scramble

The past few days have been busy as hell.  All this stuff going on, it’s crazy!  First of all, I put in an application and left the security deposit on a new apartment today… I’m waiting to see if they’re going to approve my sorry ass or not, it’s making me crazy with angst. Oh, I know there are other apartments in the world but I want THIS ONE!!!  I’ll know by tomorrow.  If I get it, I’ll move on March 1st. The apartment is a large two-room studio, so now is the time to PURGE HALF MY BELONGINGS!!!
