Too much fun

Chris MillsI had lots of fun last night at the Chris Mills show; I saw scads of good ol’ pals including Amy and Sheila and all the Manishevitz boys.  I also caught a great band I hadn’t heard before called the HaveNots.  They’re super sweet people (Sophia and Liam) and hilarious to hang out with as well.  They’re playing next week at the Hideout so go check ‘em out if you can.

I had a little too much fun this whole week though; now I just want to stay home and not have any contact with anybody if I can help it.  I don’t know why but I get so easily overwhelmed with people.  At the moment, for this weekend at least, I just want to hide, keep to myself and mind my own beeswax.  So I think that’s exactly what I’ll do.  (smile)

Cluckin’ chicks

So yeah, Carol and I met up, yakked for a long time, went and had barbecue and then met up with Sheila, walked back to my place and yakked some more.  It was very good times. Carol and Sheila are old pals from when Carol worked at the Reader.  And Sheila remembers Carol’s ex, who used to be roommates with MY ex back in Texas.  Oh god, how worlds collide.  Or maybe it just proves once again that Sheila is the true center of this particular universe.  It would save everyone so much trouble if we’d only remember to consult her first before drawing any conclusions on each other.  Heheh.

Carol’s here

My old pal Carol Eicher is in town, we’re going to hang out tonight and geek out.  She lives in NYC but she’s actually from here, used to work at the Reader and then worked for a lotta years at the Voice in NY.  I haven’t actually seen her in like five or six years.  Maybe we should go get an ice cream in celebration of Conway Twitty’s birthday.  W00t!!
