An Evening with The Residents

Of course this isn’t *every* show I’ve ever seen; maybe I should just call it My Ticket Stub Collection.
Saturday night at Bimbo’s 365 Club in San Francisco
Eric took me to see Bruce Springsteen tonight (=last night), playing solo at the United Center. Shut up, you!! It was really good, I swear. I was really impressed with his amazing songs and musicianship, especially on the pump organ. Shut the hell UP!!! I did NOT mean it that way and you know it. He was GOOD, so shutthefuckup!! He played a Suicide song fer chrissakes, just get the fuck over yourself. Okay. Thank you.
Eric got us into this one, thank you Eric and thank you Anne! It was a total old-school folkie show, with Tom Paxton in his Greek fisherman’s cap and everything. Not what I usually go out to see, but I loved every minute. Anne played a new song she’d written called "Plainsong" which just killed me… she’s about to record a new album and that’ll be the title track. I can’t wait to hear it.
Fantastic show. It was just her and David Rawlings, what more do you need? Not even an opening band. She played a bunch of my favorite songs, including "One Little Song" and "My Morphine". Didn’t play "Paper Wings" though. They played two sets and two encores and got assaulted with requests from the audience, so I can’t complain! Her voice was spectacular, and with her and David together, it’s the sweetest sound on earth. So glad I finally got to see them live, thank you John!!
