My friend Amy (who's NYC apt. I'm emailing from now) bumped into The Actual Kevin Bacon, in person on the streets of lower Manhattan one time. And, if you can cut out that bread, pasta, potatoes AND fruit, (it sounds like the "South Beach D--t")that will be a big accomplishment. You sound like you're doing good. All those carbs turn right into sugar. All fruit's full of all sortsa sugar, fructose - that's why it's so tasty. Being the total sugar addict, I know lots about it, and still indulge. Like I'll go some months without it, thinking I'm over it - then binge. Scary how easily that shit happens. Couldn't ever quit it, with the stoner munchies. I hope you can manage to cut out the stuff you want to and do whatever you need to and manage to get a good night's sleep.

mmmmm. pretzels.

good luck with your abstinence regimen. i've had tdaschel's (the minority leader in congress reads your blog!) experience, too - once you beat it, you rarely think about it. but the corrolary is, once you're reminded, it's tough to forget. that's me and pot.

and since we're talking about food, a friend sent me this nice article about a restaurant in wisconsin run by husker du's bassist. road trip! http://tinyurl.com/4yzxy

Well I stopped eating candy for months, I only had my candy party last night because I *thought* about quitting it, ha ha. Best to just do things and not think about 'em. :-)

Something is going wonky on my comments and how they're displaying in Firefox. I don't know why, and it's causing me consternation but what else is new. This whole site is such a pretzel.

regarding refined sugar, i stopped eating the stuff for ... 7 years and, once you get it out of your system, you have no desire for it (but maybe that's true for Lots of Things...). good luck !

MMmmmmm!!! Now I'm sick of it so tomorrow I'll quit the sugar. :-) Didn't have any bread though, that was something, ha ha. OK, I'm going to stop telling y'all what I'm eating and stuff, it's dumb. And boring, but mostly dumb.

Okay, here's my go at it:

1. The Family Haircut was joined onstage by Mark R. Demming in 2002 for a version of "Walking Out On Love".
2. Mark R. Deming was in A Wedding (1978) with Jeff Perry
3. Jeff Perry was in Wild Things (1998) with Kevin Bacon.

That means I win, right?

I *think* I can tighten that shit up to just two degrees! Remember that thing I did with Fred Armisen for Dusted?
http://www.dustedmagazine.com/features/29

Well, since I never even talked to HIM to do that, I guess you're right. Four degrees. :-)
