i only check the reviews to make sure i haven't missed an album by one of my favorites. otherwise, i'd probably never know. but i wouldn't be surprised if the detroit review gets you some first-time listeners.

what do you think "serene dominic" is an anagram for?

Edith, as you know, I live in the neighborhood of the bad review, and I am here to tell you... the publication in question is great if you are looking for escort or a place to eat but other than that it is rather lacking. I know they regularly review movies... but music isn't something they really do.

You know I wouldn't lie to you about this... basically, this is a review I know you should take with a grain of salt.

I think too many music writers landed in their career when they failed at either/both music and writing. Hence, we get the bitter, witty & sassy would-be rockstars or the poignant, flowery & pensive would-be writers.

Says me, who doesn't read a single music rag regularly.

what the... rrffft!!! hello. well, I was going off. I had decided that the Tribune article is not bad at all, but this other one is shockingly horrible! And three paragraphs detailing all the reasons why, and how I'm not the flambouyantly depressed gal you think I am and BLAH BLAH BLAH. I think we should all have a moment's silence for that disappearing post. It shall be missed, but it has moved on to a better place...

"Avoiding the somnambulistic pitfalls and sentimental schmaltz that befall most of her contemporaries, Frost makes sadness sound sublime."

So alliterative and corny. Honestly, if I was going to feel embarrased for anyone, it would be the writer. But it's still awesome you got a fullpage in the chicago tribune.
