Comes in threes
Tuesday March 23, 2004 – 7:45 amThree great things happened today. One, I got paid for the stuff I sold on eBay. So I get to go futon shoppin’ tomorrow. :-) Two, I moved my very last vanload of crap from the old apartment this afternoon. So I AM DONE MOVING!! YEAH!!!! Three, when I got home I found my DSL modem’s lights had turned from red to a beautiful GREEN. You know what that means, go go go!! I got me a username, got the router and the AirPort base station hooked up and it’s all working great. Hip hip hooray!!
I’m in a very celebratory mood, tappin’ my toes listening to the Township Jazz ’n' Jive comp. Nancy Jacobs and her sisters are singin’ about Chicago and man, am I ever glad to be here. :-)

I’m moving too, from the suburbs back into the city.
But I’m going to lose my TIVO and maybe the DSL too. For now, at least. I’m glad you’re writing songs now. I want to write you a letter but I don’t know where to send it.

I do Kazaa file sharing sometimes (when I’ve nothing better to do) I noticed someone had three of your albums in their share folder. I wonder what you feel about the whole file sharing thing?? PS - I was tempted to download the albums, but didn’t. thanx- DEE

I don’t fileshare myself anymore, but I used to, bigtime! The only reason I don’t is because I’m scared of getting sued. Well, and also because I feel a little two-faced when I get pissed ‘cuz I see my whole life’s work being given away for free. I wrote several very confused diatribes about it… try this:

…and this one, where I tried to clarify a little:

That was about a year ago. One of the things I said back then which I still believe is that filesharing helps us indie musicians more than it hurts, and hurts the major label artists more than it helps.
