The soundtrack for the Western inspired game Red Dead Redemption, composed by Bill Elm and Woody Jackson is definitely worth a listen. I'm quite surprised no one has mentioned it already. The entire recordings are out there somewhere, around 6 hours of music.

I like the term Ambient Americana =). It sounds great.

Hey there William, good to hear from you. Yeah I went to a memorial thing in Bloomington 3 weeks ago. Buckets of tears. But I wouldn't have missed it, so many people who loved Jason & shared stories. Saw a lot of old friends & made new friends that feel like old friends. Still heartbreaking tho.

Hey Edith. Just heard about Jason a few days ago. Sitting in back of my Richmond apartment, drinking, and watching S:O videos on YouTube on my iPhone. And thought of you and the things you said about him, years ago. And how are you? Nearly six years in Taos, and back just before the hurricane, August 2011, across CO, Kansas, MO, IL, IN and KY and here with my daughter and grandson, 8 this Wednesday, 6-5. And knew somehow it would be this way, and what he left - for us to do, with and without him.

Wow. What a thread, accidentally found it because of the (awesome) Hired Hand soundtrack, and nearly all of my favourites in this subgenre are mentioned – Paris, Texas also the best film of all time, obviously ;-) , Bill Frisell, etc.

I’d recommend the Padang Food Tigers, both of their albums are great, and they name the Hired Hand soundtrack one of their influences.

Ha!! I do vaguely remember that interview, mainly b/c Kampmann was my great-grandmother Eda's last name. :-) Thanks so much for your kind words. I'm working with an outfit now called Distant Correspondent -- we're in heavy talking-to-labels mode at the moment, decisions are being made. All I can say! ;-) We're aiming to get a full album out ASAP, get on the road, the whole bit. Maybe I'll make it back to Germany this way!

I would take whatever they say on their website and tack on 2-3 months. :-\ I'm going to close comments on this thread now, since I really don't want Google to be sending people over to my website to do their customer-cleanup work, basically! It's dumb. But FWIW it seems to be a toss-up: on the one hand many people do seem to be getting their slipcovers, the slipcovers are well made and nice-looking (I'm still using & enjoying mine!). But on the other hand the customer service has been universally reported as terrible, and it seems to take about 2 or 3 months longer to get your stuff than they claim. If you're okay with risking that amount of money & willing to wait that long & willing to put up with a bunch of nonsense instead of honesty about the status of your order? Go for it! Otherwise, steer clear. Closing comments now. Best of luck to those still waiting!!

How long to ship in the US? And what if I want to cancel my order since it is taking too long?? I will cancel the charge on my card if I do not receive confirmation of my order and shipment info. I called and left a voicemail but no answer.

We did eventually receive our cover. It's nice too. I'll give weuweu that up front. But the customer service is awful. Request for status were either ignored or abused as an opportunity to lie. The emotional stages of recovering our ikea sofa are not meant to be concern, distrust, despair, and finally anger. Receiving our cover was like a reversal of fortune. Yay!, we didn't get ripped off after all.

I have heard about the DeZurik Sisters from my family – my grandfather’s sister was married to Matt DeZurik, so it’s a shirt-tale thing they were always proud of. I am curious what Mary Jane died of at such a young age, and also Lorraine – even younger, if anyone knows. Thank you. Love their singing!
