Just got home yesterday and man, oh man, oh man am I exhausted, and SORE?  Omigod.  My back is killing me, I guess from sitting in the van for sixteen days in a row and lifting all that gear every day.  I feel like such an ol’ lady.  But I’m very psyched to be home, very happy with how the tour came out.  Thanks so much to everyone who came out to see us play along the tour, especially the generous warmhearted folks who put us up along the way.  And big hugs to all my pals that made it to the show at the Bottle last night, especially Eric (and Erick!) and Geoff and Sarah and Dennis and Aadam and all the Drag City peeps, and whoever else I’m forgetting.  I love all y’all to pieces and I’m really glad y’all got to be there.

It was a great tour, I was playing really well and singing great, I never got sick with a cold (’cuz I quit smoking I guess!) and sure as hell never got sick of hearing Manishevitz’ music.  They are sooo great!  Love that shit.  And they’re all great guys, very cool to tour with.  And Derek Becker at Satellite did such a great job on this tour that he’s now officially my booking agent for real, yayyyy!!!  I have an agent again, YAYYYY!!!!  ::hops up and down::  I’m psyched.  Things are really looking up again, it’s taking a lot of work but it feels so good to be getting back into the swing of things again after laying low for so long.

I broke a tooth while I was eating dinner tonight!  Well, it wasn’t the dinner’s fault, I just suddenly found myself chewing on a piece of tooth, I don’t know why.  Now I have this big snaggleytooth in the back, I need to call Dr. Guenther and see what can be done.  Shit.

Remember that Treo smartphone I bought before I left for the tour?  Well, that thing has turned out to be just about the greatest gadget I’ve ever owned.  When I got it I was feeling really guilty over having spent almost a month’s rent on such a seemingly unnecessary purchase, but oh man, it turned out to be really invaluable while I was on the road.  I was sitting in the van checking my e-mail, surfing the web, taking pictures and blogging them, and sending text messages back and forth to Eric, and the folks at Satellite and Drag City.  It rocked, it was such a huge improvement communicationwise over any other tour I’ve done!!  And just having all my contacts and calendar info right there on my cellphone without needing the extra PalmPilot, it was sweet.  That thing is my new best friend, I will never leave home without it.

What else?  Ummm.  Eric and I took a long drive today just for the hell of it.  We went all the way down to Hyde Park and had a late breakfast at Medici on 57th.  It rocked.  And then we went to my apt and took a nap, and then I sent him packin’ so I could make phone calls and do money and merch-counting stuff.  Tomorrow I have to pick up the van in the parking garage, return the unsold merch (not much, just a bunch of T-shirts mostly) and what else? Oh yeah, the dentist.  I hope the broken tooth isn’t serious; it doesn’t look too bad in the mirror but it sure feels gnarly when I poke it with my tongue.

Okay, time to get off the computer now.  So glad to be home again!!
