Gmail from now on
Sunday May 30, 2004 – 12:47 pmI love my new Gmail account! Love it so much I’ve decided to use it as my main e-mail account from here on out, and — note to self! — as of 3:45 pm today I will no longer bother to keep archiving mail on my computer. (Well, except for the old stuff — I’m hoping they’ll give us a way to import older mailboxes, that would be schweet!)
My name there is ‘cowgal’ btw, so in the very unlikely event that you get mail from me (heheh) you can expect to see that as the return addy instead of the usual myfirstname-at-this-domain one. Which will still work if that’s what you want to use; it’ll just be forwarded to me at the cowgal addy.
So cool that I got in early enough to score that name. I used to be ‘cowgal’ at AOL ten years ago, and then ‘cowgal’ at Yahoo too. But I got mad at both of those services, and deleted the accounts after a year or two. Cool that I get to be a cowgal again, hopefully this time I’ll keep it for awhile!

Hi Edith
Our paths crossed way back when for an interview for my zine Under The Surface…
I still keep following your work, and I was wondering if it was at all possible to send me a CDR of your web-only DEMOS release so that I might do a little review for one of the the two publications I now write for - http://www.comeswithasmile.com and http://www.adequacy.net.
My PC/internet set-up isn’t the zippiest of things and it would make a lot easier for me not having download etc…. plus I’ve always liked your songs stripped down…especially when I saw supporting WGC in Leicester eons ago…
my address is as below, lemme know if you can/can’t help… take care

Hi Adrian! I do have a CD burner, yeah, but this seems a little silly. The files are right there for the taking and the burning. I’m in Chicago, you’re in England. Isn’t there anybody a little closer to England with a CD burner? Nothing personal at all but this is the third request I’ve gotten for a promo (physical) copy; I’m thinkin’ I should just make a rule and be done with it. The release *is* the promo, you’re lookin’ at it.
Sorry if you meant for this to be private; I’m assuming you didn’t since I just told everyone my e-mail addy.

It’s okay, I shall try to find another means, just thought it was worth a shot… I couldn’t quite work out your e-mail addy from the site, that’s why I resorted to a webform enquiry. Could you possibly remove my postal address from the site though….

Heheh… well, the username is cowgal, and the domain is gmail…? Dot com…? I can only hope the spammers will be equally mystified by that.

I think I’ll use gmail more once I’m able to easily export messages to my home machine, just so that I can keep large-scale backups of messages. (For some reason, I always worry that my access to gmail will disappear after the beta period is over.)

Oh, god forbid… I don’t even want to consider that one. I’m already doing this under the presumption that they’ll eventually give us a way to bring in older mail, and/or get the hell out of there if we need to. Well… we already have an exit door, though I haven’t tried it myself:
