Go Cubs!!!
Saturday September 27, 2003 – 3:27 amThe Cubs won both games today, so they’re going to the playoffs. SWEET!! I’m barely aware of sports normally, but I can’t help but get caught up in the excitement, being a northsider after all. Whoo-hoo!!! What a great thing for Chicago. :-D It’s going to be a crazy night I bet, looks like pandemonium down in Wrigleyville.

Well, it wasn’t too hard for the Cubs to beat Pittsburgh. I mean, by the end of the season, we pretty much kind of lie back in the field and give up. No use fighting it. *grin*
I will most likely start watching the playoff games. On the one hand, I grew up on the South Side (Adams and Pulaski thereabouts), so I’m by nature of location a Sox fan. On the other hand, it’s great to see a Chicago team not suck post-90’s Bulls. Though my hopes for a potential Cubs-White Sox World Series have been dashed. (But a Cubs-Red Sox series is still possible…)
On a slightly humorous note, one of my friends in grade school told me this hypothesis: The Cubs are a team of amazing athletes. However they, like the Blues Brothers, are on a mission from God. The Cubs players are the ones who will being forth the Apocalypse. When God thinks the people are ready for the news, the Cubs will proceed to win the World Series and the beginning of the end will occur. I think it’s a bit farfetched, but you know…it makes a bit of sense.
