This will be I think his 21st or 22nd surgery in the past three years. He’s pulled through worse than this, and I am reasonably hopeful it’ll go smoothly tomorrow, but still…

Hi again Edith. I just received four of your CDs which I ordered from Drag City. I ordered "Ancestors" and "Edith Frost" as well, but these were unavailable through Drag City. Is there any way I can order them directly from you? [I want my collection to be complete :-)] Please respond by e-mail if possible. Thank you very much.

I don’t have any! Ancestors was only in print for about five minutes in the UK; the EP lasted a little longer but unfortunately is no longer available unless they decide to do another repressing. Somebody’s selling one on eBay right now though, go do a search for my name and you’ll find it.

Hi Edith. Thanks for the tip about ebay. I’ve placed my bid. Wish me luck! But what about "Ancestors"? I’d imagine you have your own copy. Forgive my brashness but would you consider making a copy for me if I cover the cost of your time and materials and pay your due royalties? :-D [This is a genuine request, really. I hope my suggestion isn't invoking evil copyright spirits!]

The surgery took forever but it’s over now and he’s doing well thank goodness. We’re all very relieved, and with that I’ll stop talking about it (again). You know I only talk about it when I’m really scared he’s gonna bite the big one.

Thanks Edith for even considering my request for a copy of "Ancestors". I’ll remind you again in a while, if necessary. I plan to keep an eye open for it on ebay, but your stuff either rarely shows up or sells quite high. Anyway, I’m glad you father’s surgery was successful. Thanks for your replies. [I'm enjoying my 4 new Edith Frost CDs right now and keeping a close eye on the auction :-) ]
