Hittin’ the town
Tuesday May 3, 2005 – 3:07 amI ventured out last night to see the Zincs open for Spoon at the Metro. Loved the Zincs a lot, and I’m not just saying that because we share a drummer! :-) The headliners were good too but they were pretty commercial-sounding compared to the stuff I normally listen to. I dug their cover of Wire’s Lowdown though. (Me to Thax Douglas: "This song is very Wire. Man, this totally sounds like a Wire song. You know, I think it IS! I could swear… but they wouldn’t close their set with a cover would they? Well I may be crazy but I’m tellin’ ya, I’m pretty sure this is a Wire song.")
Saw a bunch of people I knew, so that was nice. Elia from the Scotland Yard Gospel Choir scored me the free ticket, and a bunch of the Canasta kids were there too. Speaking of Canasta, they’re now giving away MP3s from their sold-out first EP Find the Time. Go giddum! "Just a Star" is the best song ever.

Hi Edith,
Could you please tell me who did the artwork for your "Wonder Wonder" LP, more specifically the cursive font? My friend is a singer, too, and she likes the cover, and is thinking of ideas for her new CD. Thanks.

That logo was designed by Dan Osborn at Drag City. He kinda modeled it after this Arlo Guthrie logo.
