I ventured out last night to see the Zincs open for Spoon at the Metro.  Loved the Zincs a lot, and I’m not just saying that because we share a drummer!  :-) The headliners were good too but they were pretty commercial-sounding compared to the stuff I normally listen to.  I dug their cover of Wire’s Lowdown though.  (Me to Thax Douglas: "This song is very Wire.  Man, this totally sounds like a Wire song.  You know, I think it IS!  I could swear… but they wouldn’t close their set with a cover would they? Well I may be crazy but I’m tellin’ ya, I’m pretty sure this is a Wire song.")

Saw a bunch of people I knew, so that was nice.  Elia from the Scotland Yard Gospel Choir scored me the free ticket, and a bunch of the Canasta kids were there too.  Speaking of Canasta, they’re now giving away MP3s from their sold-out first EP Find the Time. Go giddum!  "Just a Star" is the best song ever.
