I feel good!!
Tuesday June 17, 2003 – 12:25 pmRemember my ‘No More Blogrolling’ phase when I swore off reading a bunch of blogs that were getting on my tit, including the growlings of a certain Mr. Grumpybear? Well he’s whining again and I can’t escape it because the whole freakin’ blogiverse is talking about it. In my best Nancy Kerrigan voice I ask… WHYYYYYY?
Apparently Grumpopotamus feels that Movable Type produces "funky" RSS. Are my feeds funkified? According to the Funkidator they’re funky as can be, funky like James Brown. Well, I give my feeds a bath at least once every two weeks whether they need it or not, and I haven’t had any complaints so far on their personal hygiene or lack thereof. I hope if anybody really does discover some stank in there, they’ll let me know so I can fix it.

Da Funkidator makes no claims as to whether it’s good or bad to be funky; there are valid arguments on both sides (not to mention arguments on both sides about feed validity….). Da Funkidator’s author, on the other hand, provides a decidedly funky RSS feed, and has no plans to change. It’s like I always say, I’m going to hell because that’s where the good music is going to be.

I’ve read miles of arguments and the only conclusion I can come to is that one person’s funk is another person’s feature. My feeds work fine, and they validated the last time I checked. If something’s really wrong I have no problem changing it to make it more compliant with standards — if we could only settle on the standards!
Now I feel bad for calling people names. :-( Some people just love to argue, I shouldn’t let that bother me.
