My new anti-Geraci technique is unstoppable!
Thursday July 29, 2004 – 11:27 pmI don’t think any non-Midwesterners will know what I’m talking about, but for years I’ve been seeing these commercials on TV by a bankruptcy lawyer named Peter Francis Geraci. Now, I’m not nearly as much of a princess as I claim to be; I’m broke all the time like everybody else I know. So when I hear those gloom’n'doom ads it really gets me in the pit of my stomach. "Need Bankruptcy Relief? Afraid of Losing Your House or Car? Then Listen to my Chapter 13 Info Tapes!!"
Well I finally figured out how to defeat that fscker. He won’t be scaring me anymore, because, drumroll please…
THE GUY IS WEARING EYELINER.
Swear to god. Look at him!! HA HA HA!!
Also, I don’t think it’s even possible to create a website any more eye-poppingly horrible than that. He obviously can’t even afford to get his kid to do it.

Do the commercials still have "Infotapes" surrounded by a bunch of parentheses? I never understood the point of that — to signify listening, perhaps?
I’m sad that Eagle Insurance isn’t on the web, nor have I been able to find their hideously funny advertisements. Same goes for Rodney D. Young (an insurance company that made an appearance in the Chicago area in the late 80s and had similarly bad commercials).

I didn’t see this before:
http://www.theeagleman.com/
I can’t seem to find commercials, but even within flash the quality is hilariously craptastic.

I cannot stop laughing about that website. Someone even came in and asked me what was so funny, but they didn’t quite get it when I showed them. Hey, maybe I can get them to hire Marshall to spruce up the site a bit.
Changing subjects, on the juggling thing, I had already poked around online but couldn’t find anything. I told Marshall to pick up an SAKids Magazine next time he sees one. Surely there will be someone in there who would want to teach the poor child to juggle.

Rob, I don’t think it’s parentheses, it’s {{curly}} {{brackets}}, and I think they might also be {{italicized}}. He must be accustomed to writing in a wiki environment. ;-)
The Eagleman flash is WAY too high-quality for that company, but I love it! But who doesn’t love the Eagleman?
Lucie: we have to find somebody to teach Marshall to juggle!! I don’t know what to do! (For everyone else’s info, Marshall is my young nephew and when that kid want to do something… HE DOES IT. Now he wants to learn to juggle and called me for advice on where he could go in San Antonio to accomplish this. Let’s find that kid a teacher!!)

P.S. Lucie: I deliberately misspelled the word "fscker" because I thought you might yell at me about that. Please don’t sue me mister Geraci sir! I’m sure the EFF would agree this post is a parody of your FINE commercials and LOVELY website, it was not meant as slander or defamation of character, o kind sir.

“I have something…for you!"
I wish there were compilations of just really bizarre local commercials over the past twenty years or so.

Every community has their own "flavor" commercials.
*sings the theme from the Mel Farr commercials and thinks about getting Belvedere to come do his siding *

I love the Empire Carpet jingle… can’t hear that one without singing harmony.

Most people here are very jealous of Peter Francis Geraci. This guy has been doing business for many years, he has to be doing his bossiness right or else he wouldn’t have the money to advertise. He even helped me out of debt, gave me a new life. I thought he was one of coolest man, I have ever seen in my life. I don’t think we should be making fun of people that are on TV. To some people it is just a laugh but to others it is about getting a fresh start in life.

I’m not jealous, his ads make me feel bad, like I’m a deadbeat loser, so I wanted to come up with something to prevent that feeling from occurring. I’m glad he helped you though! You signed up for an account just to post that one pro-Geraci comment, wow…
August 20th, 2004 at 8:37 am
Thanks for the double post! I think it’s time for me to tell Google to stop indexing this post. :-)
