New Toy ooOOoo!
Tuesday April 12, 2005 – 12:10 amI’ve been a very good girl this tax season; I thought I was going to owe lots of money but as it turns out I paid way WAY too much on my estimated’s, so I’m getting a big fat refund. So with that in mind, I decided to splurge on something I’ve been wanting for awhile. Got my hands on a used Playstation 2 today (=yesterday), and the only reason I got it was because I’ve been dying to play this one game called Katamari Damacy. Really, that’s all I want to play; once I’m done with this game, that’s it, I won’t buy any more, I swear!! (heheh!) But if I were to buy another one, I now know that GameStop is where it’s at, man. Those nerdboys were so nice to me! I needed a lot of schoolin’ too, ‘cuz the last gaming system I had was a Super Nintendo, circa 1992 or so. I even got my mom addicted to that thing, back in the day.

Wow, I’ve been thinkin’ that I need to get a PS2 to play that very same game! There’s a sequel in the works; screenshots are here:

You also need to get PaRappa the Rapper, which you can still buy used.

Oh, man…. Katamari is The. Best. Game. Ever.
Wait until you get to later levels and start picking up cars and trees and buildings… there’s something SO satisfying about it. I can’t wait for the sequel.

I was just telling my brother last night about Katamari Damacy. It sounds really strange when you try to explain the premise, but damn, is it addictive….

Might I recommend ICO after you devour Katamari?

Are you going to start wearing one of these hats? I’ve never even played Katamari Damacy, and I have dreams about it.

My video game experience stopped back in the early 80s at a game called Pong - funny enough, my son helped me download a playable version for my Mac last week and I play it while waiting for things to print (wait…wait…wait)
I remember another game called Breakout…will have to see if that one’s available online, too.
We also have PacMan for OS X - so much fun and with all the sound effects!
Happy gaming! - Lyn

Oh this looks like the perfect thing for my brain once I graduate (hopefully!) in May! Guess we’ll hear from ya in a while eh? :)

I played this at a friends house, and he played it through til the very end when there was nothing left to pick up. It was quite entertaining, but rather anti-climactic. =)
I got PS/2 for DDR, it’s about the only thing that’s kept me interested in not being a couch potato. ;)

Is this why I never get to see you anymore? I hope it is this new gadgetry and not something more tragic or sinister, or my own lameness, which I am sure factors in somewhere…

I just got a PS2 as well… thought it was Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas(AKA super video crack) that won me over.
