Notes from Brooklyn
Friday July 12, 1991 – 8:00 pmNote: This is a journal entry — it was written on paper or on my computer, then transferred to my website, maybe years later.
I’m starting a new diary because I keep forgetting everything that happens to me. My sense of time is totally fucked. I can’t tell the difference between yesterday and two months ago — guess it’s all this hash we’ve been smoking, ha ha.
I still work at Lintas. I say that because I sincerely hope that when I next read this, I will be the fuck out of there.
Today was Leo A.’s last day after getting laid off, along with Gena G. But he was in studios all day long and I never saw him. I put a tape of rockabilly tunes on his desk, sort of a goodbye present. I had originally made it for this goofy guy Gary who came over and played guitar one time, but I decided Leo deserved it a lot more.
I also sent off Sandy’s tape, full of Wire, Cocteau Twins and Colin Newman, etc. I’ve been on such a Wire kick lately. I bought everything I could find related to Wire, like He Said, Duet Emmo, A.C. Marias.
Bill taped Penn & Teller on Geraldo for me and I’m fixing to watch it. I can’t wait to go see their Broadway show again — they switched theaters on me. Never have gotten the fan club stuff yet.
