Isn’t Long Black Veil just about one of the greatest, saddest songs ever written?
Really takes my breath away and leaves a tear in my eye. No kidding.
I’ve never heard a version that I didn’t like and I can’t wait to hear yours.

I don’t mean to brag it up but this is a really really pretty version. IMO!! Sally let me sing the harmonies at the Old Town School festival last year and then we ended up recording it that way, or maybe it was the other way around, I can’t remember. I just woke up.

Hi Edith,
I am coordinating a mini arts fest and a tribute to Howard Finster in Brooklyn in a few weeks which Dan Smith is playing, along with The Essex Green and Sufjan Stevens, called, “Wheel of Fire: A Musical Tribute to Howard Finster.”
I wondered if I could use the picture you took of Elin and Dan at Paradise Gardens for some press e-mails and press kits I send out, giving you full photo credit everytime, of course.
Didn’t want to do it without your permission.
Let me know, thanks!
Melissa
