Rock for Kids party tonight
Wednesday September 22, 2004 – 7:30 amThe second annual Rock for Kids charity auction is being held tonight at the Smart Bar here in Chicago. I made a mix CD for this and it came out really well… maybe whoever ends up with it will give me permission to post the tracklist later, we’ll see. Mix-makerwise, I’m in really good company just like last year! But I just know my CD is the very best of all, because it just is. It must be worth tens of thousands of dollars to RFK I’m sure. Okay, a hundred bucks. Uhhh… seventy-five? Fifty? Ehhh. Any little bit will help ‘em, and I know you’ll dig my mix a lot, so won’t you place a bid pretty-please? You don’t have to attend the party to do that; see their press stuff for more info.

all right, i went to this, and though i was too late from an art show to get to the first round of bids, wich starred a friend of mine whose picture is on this site, i did get there in time to bid on and win a CD in round 2, to bid on and win but then fight over and lose another CD in round 3, and to bid on but SO NOT WIN Edith’s CD. AND: it DID go for at least $100!! I jumped in when I noticed that someone upped the high bid from $50 to $80, or something, and bid a reckless $85, and then, within seconds, someone swooped in and upped it to $100. Then I stopped watching that one. Woohoo! Go Edith! And at the end, like magic frosting on the little cupcake of good will events, Dave Max Crawford, Cubs scoreboard keeper, bartender, and musician extraordinaire won the raffle for the iPod.
A great night. Now how do I get a copy of your mix, miss Edith? ha ha ha

Edith, don’t you think that since you made the mix, you should be able to post the track listing anytime you want (anytime after the RfK auction). And, of course, you can burn copies of it for whoever you want - you put it together. (I’m still anxiously waiting for the P.O. to deliver it one of these days soon…)

It would be fun to post the tracklist but I don’t want to spoil the surprise for YOU after you paid all that moolah! So I’ll wait until you’ve had a chance to hear it at least. :-) Post again later and let us know what you think and I’ll cut’n'paste the songs then.
