Irony… how I love it… because isn’t this the same kind of crass profitmaking spirit that Jesus attack in the temple?

Yeah! Throw the schlock vendors outta the present day temple
(the web, the malls, the multiplex cinemas) Mel figures he’s gotta break even on this extravaganza if it flops, and the magic word is Merchandising-a-go-go Cashing in on Christ, for chrissakes, it’s downright sacreligious.

hiya, if i see mel gibsons snarky face one more time i may have to find him and kick him in the knees. there is way to much over exposure of thease uninteresing celeberties. why are people taking lethal weapon stars so seriously. we should be more concerend in what our president is doing, he’s offending the jews, and everyone else.
hey edith, i have never posted here before. i love wonder wonder. many times it is a staple in my five disc player.

hey edith, sorry to bother you, i just have all this time to post and volley email while i pretend to work at my work under the mysterious hue of flourecent lighting. i’ve been trying to find info on this, does drag city publish books of poetry? and do they take unsolicited tapes? you are on drag city right? i think drag city has been a savior to music over the last decade or so. i would ask someone else, but, i am kind of a lone soilder here since i’ve moved.

People mail demos all the time, dunno if they actually get listened to though. My first contact with them was via an unsolicicted demo, though that may have been the last time they ever released a record based on just that. I really don’t know… even in my case it took almost a full year before they contacted me about it.

thanks so much. i hope everything is going ok, i’ve been reading your site all morning. i’m going through the same relationship cliff, or falling off cliff, and also i’m dealing with a new city. all this "heartache", it just means things will get better. at least you’ll become even more sensitive, and in my mind there isn’t anything wrong with that.thanks again.

Thanks!! Things are getting better, at least it feels that way some days. I’m learning that there are certain people who naturally know how to treat me in a way that makes me feel better, and there are others who are just unable or unwilling to do that. Which is fine as long as I can recognize who’s who, and surround myself with people who do help me move forward and learn from these experiences, bad and good. No use wasting my time on people who just make me feel worse!

p.s. I’m currently stuck on the couch with my laptop, because workmen are putting new windows in our place. So I got nothin’ much better to do than ponder these things. :-)
February 26th, 2004 at 9:58 pm
pondering is good. it’s all i find myself doing. it’s part of being an american, having many opinions and doing nothing about it. although, i do try, doing something about it. my boring day job lets me do this in front of a computer screen, then at home i try to put my ponderings into ponder poems…ok i’m losing myself here,
let the hammers of those workmen be the aggresion you need to release. ??? i guess im talking about anger….hey all this loss and stress and blahblahs are good for your art. get off the laptop and write some songs about pondering!!!

If you fill the mug up with hot water Jesus appears. Can’t wait for the Shroud of Turin beach towels! (old Simpsons quote)

Now if you filled the mug with water and it turned into wine, then I’d buy it…

I think I’d rather purchase a more sympathetic cheap tchotchke, like the Buddy Christ Dashboard Statue from Kevin Smith’s Dogma: http://store.yahoo.com/jsbstash/budchrisdass1.html . Thank you, Cardinal Glick!

Ahhh, the "Passion" movie merchandise website online mailorder merchandise mart! I just can’t get over those "Passion o’Christ" genuwine, realistic, metaphorically-accurate, machine-hewn-in-China Crucifixation Nails on a pendant are just the thing to get those Christian warriors a-marchin’ Onward to Armageddeon and The Rapture under the dubious leadership of their installed Republican puppet "President", Dubya.
It may, in fact, be a bloody good movie, as Zeb reports. But we’ve got a "President" who claims God’s on "our side" and personally advises him on attack, invasion and domination strategy for this Newer, Bloodier American Century. When they mix politics and religion these days, the death toll just keep rising (550+ of us; over 10,000 of "them”) Forgive my grief, pardon my negativity, and I’ll ty to curb my enthusiasm.
