I was always more partial to the Ketchup song by him… but I guess that’s because its more a local song than anything.
The Ketchup Song
by Stompin’ Tom Connors
There was this guy from P.E.I. they used to call Potato,
He met this young Leamington, Ontario tomato,
But he had eyes for other girls, and since she was a little mushy,
So they said, "Well, let’s get wed, there’s no sense being fussy."
Chorus:
Big size, French fries, how they love tomatoes,
So dress ‘em up with Heinz ketchup, ketchup loves potatoes,
Ketchup loves potatoes.
Well he went down to Windsor town to buy a ring on Monday,
Saturday, they said, "Okay, we’ll cut the cake on Sunday."
But Sunday came, and what a shame, they had no one to fetch it,
Without a cake they just sat and ate potato chips and ketchup.
[Chorus]
And so this guy from P.E.I. they used to call potato,
He’s got two boys and a little girl, two spuds and one tomato,
They romp and run around Leamington and boy when they get hungry,
The bottle drips all over the chips way down in the ketchup country.
[Chorus]
Ketchup loves potatoes.
Ketchup loves potatoes !
From the album, Bud the Spud - 1969 Capitol

Thank you for the link and the great news Edith. That’s exactly what I’m looking for. Will "Dear Someone" be on the disc or are you keeping tha a secret? :-D

No, that demo ssssssucked. I’d rather dip it in caustic acid, pound it with a meat tenderizer, set it on fire and watch it burn, and then quietly delete the file and never hear that crap again. Love the original though. :-)

Oh you’re just modest Edith. And yes the original is great. But would you expect less from Gillian and David? By the way can I come watch while you perform that ritual with acid and so on?

Hi again Edith. I was just checking out your collection of concert ticket stubs and was astounded at our similar tastes in music. We both like the Cocteau Twins, Gillian Welch/David Rawlings, and we both seem especially fond of Edith Frost’s work :-D

How have you been enjoying Conan in Toronto so far, Edith?
