Moved to Chicago

Well, I have moved my ass to Chicago, y’all! If you’ve arrived at this page then you know I’ve already switched Internet providers… my new e-mail address is XXX (now invalid).

GUESS WHAT… there’s a big fat feature story about my music in this week’s edition of the Chicago Reader. This is the first time I’ve done a real interview for a real newspaper with a real photographer and all. whoah…

I played my first gig in Chicago at the Empty Bottle on Friday night, it went great! I got to open for Rebecca Gates, the singer from the Spinanes, who I dig a lot. You know, she played a cool cover of the Pretenders’ "Talk Of The Town", and I was sick because I had come *this* close to playing an old country tune called "I’m The Talk Of The Town," a totally different song — it would’ve been perfect!! Maybe we oughta do it up as a split single, eh?

New Years in Billyburg

Tonight’s my first paying gig ever, so I’m relaxing by myself for awhile — I want to take a nap in a little bit.  Jeff and I went through all the songs earlier today and it all sounded fine.  Hope I didn’t wear out my voice.  It should be really fun tonight.  I wonder if anybody from work will show up, that would be fun to show off in front of them.  I would get a kick out of it if Melanie B. would come especially.  Because I think she would genuinely be into that sort of music.

Stalking the Jackaroos

Stu says: if it ain’t fun, it’s not worth it.  Don’t forget to have fun.  And truer words have never been spoken.

Just got back from the Jackaroos gig at the Mast.  The Southern Comfort has not quite worn off yet.  What a fun evening!  I went out and got high with (XXX) and (XXX).  Major fun.  I like both of them a great deal.

I thought I was gonna get to sing at tonight’s show, but it did not happen.  But I must stress how great it was anyway.
