			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>HOLY CRAP, looks like I&#8217;m confirmed to play <a href="http://www.atpfestival.com/events/line_up.php?event=23">All Tomorrow&#8217;s Parties</a> in May.*  And, here&#8217;s some formerly top-secret info I can finally reveal:&nbsp; I&#8217;m opening a couple of shows (playing solo) on the historic, unprecedented tour by the <a href="http://www.dragcity.com/bands/silverjoos.html">Silver&nbsp;Jews</a>.&nbsp; Flying out there and flying back.&nbsp; Just two shows: Asheville on March&nbsp;12th and Carrboro on the 14th.&nbsp; Mind you, if you&#8217;re in the Raleigh / Durham / Chapel&nbsp;Hill / Carrboro area, don&#8217;t cancel your plans to see me there on Feb.&nbsp;24th &#8216;cuz that&#8217;ll be a headlining slot with a full band, whereas these Silver&nbsp;Jews shows are just solo&#8230; oh, you know, I&#8217;m just sayin&#8217;.&nbsp; Nobody&#8217;s coming out to those shows on MY account anyway, it&#8217;s all about the Joos.&nbsp; :-)</p>

<p>Edith Frost has a mesmerising, ghostly presence.  Her voice is fragile and sickly &#8212; it feels at first a bit like a cold hand on your shoulder.  It&#8217;s funny that she should be singing about ancestors, because she has a voice from the past, a gentle, curious oddity from another time and culture.  Sometimes she sounds like the memory of a century old Sioux spreading terrible wisdoms.  Sometimes she sounds like the madwoman in the attic.  Actually, she&#8217;s probably a wee woman from Partick who runs a laundrette, but then music is alchemy, isn&#8217;t it?</p>
