Notes from San Martino Spino

We’re somewhere out in the country in Italy, about 40 minutes outside of Modena, staying at Tiziano’s house, the promoter from the show last night at the Montechristo club.  The show was weird.  I guess every OTHER show is turning out well in this country!  Which is pretty normal for anywhere I guess.

Fitzcarraldo’s (Genova, Italy)

Hello from Roma!

I haven’t been able to blog in forever just because every time I’ve gotten on the internet (which is rarely) I’ve only had time to check my mail, and to write a few people.  I’m keeping a journal though, maybe I’ll post some of that later when I get home.

While we’re in Rome we’re staying at this girl Sara’s apartment.  I’m using her computer and she has a really old version of Internet Explorer.  My site looks all fucked up here, I guess it can’t read the style sheet right.

Well, we’re in Rome.  I can’t say that I’m happy about it but here we are.  I really miss Andy, our road manager from Spain!!!  I miss everyone from Green UFOs too.  I sure had fun in Spain.

I should backtrack and tell you about the Granada show on Friday.  That was a little weird but it went okay.  Granada was just as beautiful as Andy had described.  Of course we didn’t have as much time to walk around exploring, due to the extra time we had to take to swing by Puerto Real to pick up the stupid t-shirts.  But we got there in time for sound check.  The club (the Planta Baja) is really mod, like something out of Logan’s Run.  I don’t think there were any straight lines in that place, all the walls were curved and every hallway or walkway was totally tubular, man.  The sound guy was real nice and so was the booking guy, or talent buyer or whatever you call ‘em.  The stage was in the downstairs room, but there wasn’t really a stage-stage, just some steps that led up to a higher level.  Everything was concrete or tile, so the sound was a bit worrisome, but they hung a curtain behind us which helped squelch the boominess in the room.

Fun Fun Fun Club

Hey there, happy Halloween!!  I just got back to the hotel after the show in Sevilla at the Fun Club.  I KILLED tonight.  Swear to god.  The sound was really really good, at least for me, so that made it a lot easier to hear myself well and put on a good show.  Also, all the employees of Green UFOs were there (the folks who put this Spanish part of the tour together), so I guess I wanted to do really well so they could see what a kickass performer I am.  Hahaha!!  Good thing they didn’t see me last night in Puerto Real.  ;-)
