I was super impressed with Nora’s performance the other night at the Lamentations / Wanda Jackson show. I’ve sung harmonies with her a couple of times — I could tell she was really good just from that, but I’d never heard her singing on her own until this show. One word: WOW. And her new record really makes that voice shine.
Weird… I’ve gotten a couple of spams today that had my OWN address as the "sender". Both were ads for Viagra… no attachments, so I don’t think this has anything to do with the Klez worm. One of them seemed to originate from Korea, and the other from AOL, but they both had the same x-mailer in the header: "The Bat! (v1.52f) Business". Strange!! If I get any more I’ll run ‘em through Spamcop. Haul those headers in for questioning, as they say.
I sang backups (along with Nora O’Connor) on Kelly Hogan‘s offering, "Why Me". Other artists include John Doe, Tom Verlaine, Chuck Prophet, Polara, Mark Kozelek, Jon Langford, the Mother Hips, Paul Burch, and Stephen Bruton.
This is a four-song 12" EP / CD-EP. I did backups on all 4 songs, along with a whole bunch of other singers like Bill Callahan (Smog), Kelly Hogan, Archer Prewitt, and Laetitia Sadier (Stereolab).
I did some backup vocals, along with Neko Case and Kelly Hogan, on the following songs (I think!): "Myth", "City of London", "Cast No Shadows", "Something to be Scared Of" and "Last Night on Earth," which is available as an MP3 on Epitonic.
Each song features a different singer. I did all the vocals on the song "My Window Faces The South". Other singers include Alejandro Escovedo, Neko Case, Kelly Hogan, Robbie Fulks, Jimmie Dale Gilmore and the Meat Purveyors.
