Tour poster by Diana Sudyka
Friday March 3, 2006 – 8:39 pm
This is the tour-only poster that the Zincs and I are selling at our shows. It’s a gorgeous screen-printed thing; the jpg doesn’t really do justice to its iridescent hues. If you want a copy and can’t make it to one of the shows you can order directly from the artist Diana Sudyka at the Bird Machine.

Farmer falconer poster

The farmer falconer
Sunday January 15, 2006 – 8:44 am
I dreamed I was a farmer’s wife, and the farmer had a gorgeous pet falcon. He decided over the course of time that he was going to fly away with the falcon. I loved them both so much and I wanted them to stay. So I stood out in the field and waved my arms and threw out corn or something to attract the falcon and make it come over to me. It did, and eventually the farmer followed it over to me and I flung my arms around him, sobbing and begging him "please don’t leave me! I love you, you can’t go away!" Then as I was embracing him I realized that under the overalls, the farmer was made out of balloons. So he was already gone, he was no longer flesh and blood like me. :-(

New album coming soon
Wednesday August 17, 2005 – 10:40 pm
Today’s my 41st birthday! And, not that one has anything to do with the other, but the time is finally right to talk a little bit about my new album It’s a Game. It’s going to be released on CD and LP, on November 15th if all goes as we hope, or even if it doesn’t! On Drag City of course, catalog # DC301. What you’re lookin’ at up there is some proposed poster art, not the cover — I’m keeping that under wraps until we get it all finalized, but you’ll see it soon enough. That poster photo was taken by Eric Ziegenhagen just last week at the Palmer House downtown — it got dolled up and pinkified by Dan Osborn, who’s doing the album layout like he’s done for all my rekkids.
Gotta work, new poster
Monday August 3, 1998 – 3:00 amWell, everything’s a little calmer today. I finally broke down and asked my dad for some money, and he said okay, so I’m very very relieved!! I really do have the best daddy on earth… he lets me get away with murder and I know this. I’m almost thirty-four years old and I don’t think a year has gone by where I haven’t asked for money at one point or another. I know my sister Lucie doesn’t do this!! But she’s a lawyer and I’m a musician… I know that’s no excuse though. Nobody should feel sorry for me when I bitch about money, because I MADE my bed… I totally CHOSE to be a musician, and I was pretty well aware of the financial dangers of that choice. It’s an up-and-down source of income… it’s like choosing to be a mooch half the time! I guess I really can’t get away with living off my name alone… haha… at least not yet. But it WAS fun while it lasted. Daddy did say "you have to get a job" — so I guess that clinches it, I will be looking for work when I come back next week. UGHHHH. Poor Daddy… I don’t envy him, getting saddled with a daughter like me. I’m a handicapped child… my WALLET is permanently disabled.
