• The internets are overwhelming, I’ve barely done any knitting the past couple days. WP 2.7 is so nice I think I might start blogging again. #

• Installed a cute lil’ audio player plugin for WordPress. Can’t believe I didn’t find a way to do that before. I was making people DOWNLOAD. #

• Running WordPress 2.7 RC1, tweeting from dashboard w/ Twitter Tools. Too bad I overwrote the plugin and broke the styling changes I’d made. #

Alternative to the WordPress Plugins directory

I just started (again) using the TwitterTools plugin for WordPress to post individual tweets directly to my blog. Problem is, I wasn’t happy with the way the tweets were being displayed — raw and unstyled, and with no linkback to the status page on Twitter. When you use the post-to-digest feature it does have the linkback, and it’s easy to style because you can target the enclosing list element. So I wanted to copy those two features over for the individual tweet-to-blog posts. So I hacked that plugin into shape! I’ll post the steps I took in case it comes in handy for someone else.

• My MacBook Pro battery only works for 40 mins now, even after calibrating. Will call AppleCare but I bet I have to take it in to the store. #
• Took my MBP to the Apple Store and they gave me a new battery. Grade A customer service as always. :-) #
• A very silly friend of mine put a buck in my tip jar, but nothing’s showing up in the links widget! Bah. #

• Ran up against a bad bug in the WP 2.5 plugin auto-updater. It deleted a plugin, then installed & activated another one I’d never heard of. #
• Comment on “Customizable Comment Listings v2.0″:

  For some mysterious reason the 2.5 plugin auto-updater deleted this plugin for me, then installed and activated a copy of “Hide or Cut Post Text” instead. I had to install CCL 2 by hand.

• Rockin’ WordPress 2.5 on my Mac, seeing which of my old plugins work. ExecPHP is balking so all my groovy custom widgets are breaking. Bleh. #
• Upgraded my site to WordPress 2.5. Needed some plugin adjustments but all seems to be working now. The new built-in avatar code is happenin. #
