The crazy old lady
Saturday July 24, 2004 – 3:11 amI just woke up from a bad nightmare! I was spending the night in this old woman’s big one-story house, along with a lot of other people. There were a lot of bedrooms and I wasn’t sure which bed I was supposed to get. My old friend Sandy (who I haven’t seen in 15 years) was there, it was cool talking to her, and I think John was there too, and some others.
There were a lot of animals running around too, and in the dream I think I was travelling with John and many of the animals were actually ours, including at least one little dog, a cat, and a lovely white giant cat that he’d just acquired. Not a housecat, but a real zoo animal, I don’t know what kind. It was a baby but already about three feet long and a foot high. I was surprised he’d gotten it, I was all… uh… okay! Long as it’s a nice cat!
The old lady had a maid, and I was hungry so the maid helped me find some leftovers in the fridge… they’d just had a party or something so there was plenty to eat. As the house settled down I found a bed and laid down (John was gone by that time). As I was laying there the old lady came in the bedroom dressed up in a KKK outfit or something… the hat was different, it looked more like a baker’s hat, but it covered her face. She lifted it up to show me it was her. The sheets I had been laying on were white, and I suddenly knew that the sheets she had put down for me had writing on the underside of the top sheet; the lady was a witch of some kind and I was supposed to lay there in bed and study the writing underneath to be indoctrinated into her cult. But I had already discovered this and switched out the sheets before she came into the room. (I didn’t remember this until she came in.) The lady stood over me all delighted that she had a new member, and I got really scared because I knew she was about to see that I’d changed the sheets. She did, and she ran off in the darkness and I started freaking out. I got up and started running around looking for her so I could yell at her to leave me the fuck alone — I tried yelling out but my vocal cords weren’t functioning. There were no other people there now. Ran into one bedroom but there was only the dog and the big white cat, who I scared off because of my running. (Oh dear… don’t be scared, kitty! I’ll get us out of here somehow!!) I finally saw her in a bedroom way down the hall and I yelled out "YOU LEAVE ME ALONE!!!"
…And I’m pretty sure I yelled that out FOR REAL. I do tend to talk in my sleep a lot… ha ha. I woke up after yelling that, I wonder if it was very loud? I was scared as hell when I woke up, now I just feel weird. She was like the old lady from Rosemary’s Baby, and I think she was about to try to kill me because she knew I was not going along with her weirdo indoctrination. ::shudder:: Pretty freaky. I’m going back to bed now I guess, I hope I don’t have any more bad dreams.

Why can’t we have normal dreams. Its always somthing freaky,or just that you can’t remember the normal ones when you wake.A nightmare can’t be forgoten when you wake.
I have’nt dreamed in days,I could have, but they were just to normal to recall.

For a long time I was having normal dreams and remembering them. It was no fun. I wake up and say, "Man, I dreamed I was doing a crossword puzzle." Tam would then ask, "and then what happened?" "Thats it, I was doing a crossword puzzle then I woke up." It’s really kind of a rip off.
I started reading ghost stories and other paranormal shit before bedtime just to inspire the freakiness but it didn’t work.

It’s really rare that I can remember anything other than the mundane like you’re talking about Soren… I’m always CODING in my sleep. When I have groovy dreams I always wake up going, "wow, that was cool, I gotta remember that!! …remember what? aaahhhhh!!!" I barely ever have nightmares like I had this morning, thank god.

I’ll be haveing a great dream like I’m makeing love to a model on a pile of cash or something and then my cat jumps on my feet and wakes me.Then I try to go back to the dream and it will be some warped version like the model is now a plus size model and she is charging me for sex.

The dreams I usually remember come when I wake up and then fall asleep again… and they are usually vivid suckers too…

Zounds! That Bakery Witch sounds much like the old crone that put a black spot on me when last I went to port! She hath no deadlights to speak of! And her breath reeks of bilge water and old fruit!
Little it be known, but, thine own Richard The Black once kept rather detailed notes ’bout his nightmarish dreams. Truly - tis the best manner by which one may conjure one’s own dreamys.
For nigh on three years, I wouldst scribble mine recollections and fragments ‘pon waking. It got so I wouldst be-eth awakened, and have at the writing of 4 or 5 pages per dream. So great became mine powers of recollection, and so time consuming the task of putting pen to paper. Soon, I had to cease the practice entirely, for fear of meeting the rope’s end!
And sink me if I didn’t start forgetting my dreams all over again!
Fear not, Edith! If e’er again ye should encounter the Bakery Witch in thine slumbers, tell ‘er to walk the plank, or face the wrath of thine own Richard The Black!
I hope that this message finds thee well, and in good spirits.
Cheers,
Richard the Black, esq.
