Hello!  It’s sure been awhile since I’ve written anything.  I’m just burning a CD now and sick of playing solitaire.  Can’t run too many programs while I’m burning or I’ll end up with a coaster.

Everything’s been going pretty well.  Nothing too exciting to report.  Robert Fisher was in town a few weeks ago to do a couple of shows opening for the Handsome Family, at the Hideout on Jan. 24th and then Schuba’s on the 25th.  It was cool seeing him, and of course I did backup vocals on both shows like I always do.

John’s about to finally have his first show with his own band… it’s going to be at the Hideout on the 21st with the Rivulets opening.  He was supposed to play two other shows (at Nevin’s and then the Bottle) but they both got bumped!  So hopefully this time it will happen for real.

Did I ever talk about this group that I started on Audiogalaxy?  It was just before Christmas I think.  The group is called Incredibly Strange Music and we have like 63 members now.  The purpose of the group is to trade weird music, and we spam all kinds of unusual stuff, it’s a lot of fun!!  We have members from all over the place so we’re getting, like, novelty songs in Russian and other weird-ass shit… it’s pretty crazy.  A lot of people are sending what I consider to be Normal Music, but it’s not too bad.  Most people get the idea.

I finally broke down and registered Macromedia Dreamweaver the other night.  It was outrageously expensive for someone like me who doesn’t even do HTML for a living… but god, I love it so much I feel like I can’t live without it.  It cost almost as much as a whole month’s rent, $300 plus tax!  But I feel better knowing I don’t have to risk using the pirated version now.  I get more and more paranoid in this day and age, when the computer programs can call out and talk to the home servers and maybe catch all the pirates red-handed!

They still haven’t caught Bin Laden.  Or whoever it was that sent out the anthrax, either.  We’re still at war in Afghanistan and we’re still all supposed to be watching out for terrorism over here.  The Olympics just started in Salt Lake City so they’re very paranoid about something happening there.

Oh yeah… Will Croxton wrote to me about a week ago and told me that Wild Bill (William Teller, aka Bill Becker) died.  Waaaaaahhhhhh.  I hadn’t corresponded with him in forever and I feel so bad about that.  They’re about to have a funeral and wake for him in Brooklyn but of course I can’t be there, it’s just too far away.  I feel so old… so many of my old friends dropping off one by one.  Robbie Jacks died too, did I mention that before?  Waaaaahhh.
