Ugh, I’m moving. But yay, I’m moving!
Tuesday March 2, 2004 – 12:20 amI got the keys to my new place yesterday afternoon. It’s swanky. I have a whole month to move everything, and I have a minivan so I’m going to do as much as I can all by myself. Then when I get totally up against a wall with stuff that can’t be carried by one person, maybe I’ll scream for help. I know for a fact that I don’t have anything that won’t fit in that van, so I won’t have to rent a truck or nothin’. Did two vanloads yesterday evening and another just now. I’m fuckin’ BEAT though. Sure glad I can take my time with this, I’m going to be hurtin’ myself enough as it is.

Bring it on Alyce!! I definitely have some carryables. ;-) I’m not puttin’ out the call to people I don’t at least kinda sorta know though, ha ha. Last time I did that (when I moved to Chicago) I paid some neighborhood kids to help me unload the truck. They did it in a flash but the little fuckers stole my PDA! :-( I know, I don’t need to be *that* careful — people reading my blog are not the same as some random teenage homey on the street. But anyway, I’m not that desperate this time anyhow. It’s a super easy loadout & loadin, and I don’t have to do it all in one day, which is SWEET.

I’m a new, but very big fan, (I’ve never written a comment on a weblog b/f, first time for everything right?) Good luck with the move and the new apartment, it’s always nice to make a fresh start. How’s the weather there? rainy day in W. KY. A Mighty Wind is great, by the way.

As long as we’re on the subject of mockumentaries, I just have to reminbd you again to see the real documentary , "The Ballad of Ramblin’ Jack", about Ramblin’ Jack Elliott. The film is by his 28yr, old-or-so daughter. I reveals so much about that disconnected , mostly non-existent father-daughter relationship. When she confronts him on it, it’s just too painful for him to even go there, he can barely even acknowledge it. It’s also a really well done look at this troubadour/ramblin’ man inspired by Woody Guthrie’s, and who himself insired a young Bob Dylan.
