When are you coming to my town?
Monday September 6, 2004 – 2:19 amWhen are you ever going to tour (my town)! There’s a lot of people who would love to see you in (my town)! Please!
I don’t tour all that often, but when I do, I don’t do my own booking; I employ the services of a booking agent who, in turn, works with promoters or talent buyers in the cities where I play. I don’t choose those cities; I simply let the agent know when I’ll be available to tour, how long I’ll be available, and more or less which direction I’d like to travel. The agent takes it from there, sending e-mails and making lots of phone calls, and ultimately piecing together a tour based on the best offers he or she can scare up. As soon as I get confirmation on a show, I post the news here on my website.
I really appreciate your enthusiasm but it’s not quite as simple as you saying "please" and me saying "okay, why not?" and hopping in my car…!

if you rilly rilly wanted t’go to Canada you could tell your booking agent: "Hey! Cheater Slicks tour Canada all the time. are you telling me i’m less big, *smaller*, i mean, than Cheater Slicks? huh? Huh?" i mean, sheesh, it seems like the Canadian People would take to you like, well, the Americans did to Hank Snow!

It isn’t a matter of "wanting to". I *want* to hit every single city in the entire world but I’m only one person and I’m not exactly a roadhog. I’m going to have fans getting upset at me no matter what I do; people naturally tend to think of me as a sort of international public servant. If I only do one short tour at a time, then I’m always skipping over 99% of the world so all my listeners in the neglected areas get mad at me. If I don’t tour at all, everyone’s pissed. At the moment I have *one* tour being planned; that tour is going to the western US and I’m real sorry that my entire fanbase isn’t limited to those exact cities but that’s the way it is. When this tour is done, I’m going to get cracking on recording and beyond that, I’m sure there will be more touring but I’m not going to worry about that now.

(I edited this post to say "my town" instead of "Canada" in case y’all are confused by the above comments…)

Miss Frost~
I’m thinking this might work if i’m trying to just leave a ‘Welcome To San Francisco!’ comment…. did it work?
Well, anyway, can’t wait to see you play in SF!
I missed you in NY when I was visiting (quite a while ago)… and have been waiting for some time for you to drag yer ass my way! Yay!
I know you probably get free beer when you play but, i’m offering to buy you one in spirit anyway… Johnny Cash style!
‘See’ you on Thursday!
Your faithful admirer, Miss Rudolph.
